According to local media reports in Saudi Arabia, Saudi French Company (SFC) has established a joint venture, Safy Universal, with Absal Group in order to set up a new wet blue tannery and leathergoods manufacturing facility in the Middle Eastern state.

Sourcing raw materials from across the country the company plans to export up to 70% of the leather produced at the tannery to established markets in Europe, including Italy, Germany and France, whilst the leathergoods produced will be predominantly targeted at the domestic market.
