Leather exports rise 1000%

According to figures released by the Confederation of Brazilian Hides and Skins Industries (CICB), the South American country’s leather exports to Saudi Arabia surged in the first ten months, rising a massive 1000% from US$12,130 in the January to October period last year to US$133,450 in the same period in 2007.
In October alone, Brazil’s total leather exports reached US$199 million, 16.3% higher than in the same month of 2006.
