Homegrown success at Geox
Italian classic and casual footwear and apparel brand Geox S.p.A. has reported improved results for the first nine months as consolidated sales grew 26% (27% at constant exchange rates) to reach €693.8 million. Footwear sales, which accounted for 93% of total sales, improved 26% year-on-year to €646.9 million, whilst apparel sales increased by an impressive 49% to reach €45.1 million.
Italy remained the group’s major sales market during the nine-month period, generating 12% higher sales at €259.6 million and accounting for 37% of all the company’s sales, although this was lower than the 42% it made up in the same period in 2006. In the international markets, sales of €434.1 million were 37% higher (39% at constant exchange rates), boosted by growth in Europe (excluding Italy) which recorded a 28% increase and the USA where sales improved 37% (48% at constant exchange rates).
