Tarpon acquires 25% stake in Arezzo
Tarpon Investment Group Ltd. has acquired a 25% interest in Brazilian footwear manufacturer Arezzo Indústria e Comércio S.A. for a total investment of 76,323,500 reais ($43,595,234). It plans to combine the company with fashion house Schutz to form Arezzo e Schutz.
Anderson Birman, current CEO of Arezzo, will be appointed as CEO and chairman of the company whilst Alexandre Birman, current CEO of
Schutz, will become a member of the board of directors and vice-president of the company.
With gross revenues of 341.6 million reais, Arezzo sold 4.4 million pairs of shoes in the 12-month period ended October 2007.
