EU officials have confirmed an outbreak of foot and mouth disease on two farms near Larnaca in Cyprus.

An extensive cull has been carried out at the affected sites and a quarantine zone has been put in place. The EU has also imposed a ban on the movement and export of all livestock, meat and dairy products.
