Although Bangladesh’s overall exports fell by nearly 12% to $2.033 billion in the period July to August, the country’s leather sector continues to improve.

In stark contrast to the general trend, leather exports increased 14.89% to reach $54 million, up from $47 million in the same prior-year period, whilst footwear exports increased an astounding 44.4% to $26 million, up from $18 million.
