CNC launches new campaign to promote leather
The Conseil National Du Cuir has launched a new campaign aimed at bringing leather to the foreground of people’s attention and promoting not only leather products but also the skills and careers of the industry. Set to run until the end of 2008, the campaign will include TV advertisements as well as numerous events, including the ‘National Leather Day’ which took place on October 25, on St Crispin’s Day, the patron saint of leather and shoe workers, when numerous events were organised.
Not only were people encouraged to wear leather or carry leathergoods on October 25, many leather and leather goods manufacturers opened their doors to the public to spotlight the skills and knowledge involved in the industry and explain how leather is tanned and worked. An awards ceremony was also held at the international leather museum in Romans, where young leather designers were recognised for their achievements.
