Bangladesh steps up presence in Japan

Bangladesh manufacturers, including shoemakers, are finding increased interest in their goods in Japan having secured a massive $3.29 million worth of orders at a trade fair held in Tokyo on October 22-25.
According to the Bangladesh Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), which organised the event in association with the Bangladesh Embassy in Tokyo and the Japan External Trade Organisation, five companies received orders worth $1 million at the fair, whilst another nine companies received prospective orders worth $2.29 million. The products sold included leather shoes and handicrafts, jute handicrafts, bedding and ready-made garments.
