Ethan Allen acquires cut and sew plant in Mexico
Through its subsidiary Ethan Allen Operations, Inc., US-based manufacturer and retailer of home furnishings Ethan Allen Interiors Inc. has purchased a cut and sew leather manufacturing facility in Silao, in the state of Guanajuato, Mexico
The 40,000 sq. ft. facility currently employs 165 people.
Commenting on the acquisition, Farooq Kathwari, chairman and CEO, said, “We are pleased to add this plant to our upholstery manufacturing division. We are impressed with the hard working people and their ability to produce high quality products. Our objective is to grow this plant to support the cut and sew product requirements of our upholstery plants in the United States."
The company already operates nine manufacturing facilities in the United States and one in Mexico.
