Daimler establishes $300 million JV in China

According to Chinese media reports, German car manufacturer Daimler AG has formed a new joint venture with domestic producer Fujian Motors Group (FJMG) and Taiwan’s China Motors Corp (CMC).
The new company, Fujian Daimler Automotive Ltd (FJDA), will invest $295 million to establish a 660,000m2 production facility in Fujian Province, where it plans to employ some 2,8000 workers by mid-2009 and manufacture up to 40,000 vehicles a year.
