Falling leather prices weigh heavily on sales at Ebyl
Austrian manufacturer of car interiors, Ebyl International AG has reported lower sales for the first half of 2007/2008, due largely to a shift in the materials mix from leather to textile fabrication and the general fall in the price of leather. Sales declined 15% to €148 million from the €173.3 million reported in the same period last year.
Headquartered in Krems, the company employs about 4,000 people at 15 sites, including 11 production sites in Austria, Hungary, Romania, Germany and Slovakia.
