According to the latest figures released by Pakistan’s Federal Bureau of Statistics, although the production of shoe leather increased by over 9% in July, sole leather production fell 10% during the same period.

The leather upper sector recorded a 9.23% rise in production to reach 1.775 million m2 in July, up from 1.625 million m2 in the same month of 2006. However, sole production slipped 10% from ten tons in 2006 to nine tons this July.
