Sales rise at Rohm and Haas

Driven by strong growth outside North America, sales at US-based chemicals supplier Rohm and Haas Company improved 7% in the third quarter to reach $2.2 billion. The company posted a strong performance across all of its business segments and in all regions outside of North America, particularly in rapidly developing economies such as China and India.

Sales for the first nine months reached $6,554 million, up 6% from the same period in 2006.

Commenting on the improved results, chairman, president and CEO, Raj Gupta, said, "Our diversified business portfolio and broad-based global presence helped us to capitalise on strong demand for our products outside the US this quarter, which is clearly demonstrated in our results."
