Stahl forecasts Latin appeal for summer 2009

Dutch chemicals company Stahl has unveiled its new Colour Forecast for the summer 2009 season featuring bright vivid shades combined with pastel hues to create a carnival of colour inspired by Spain and Latin America.

Evoking the traditions of folk dance and fiesta with a modern twist, Stahl has developed six groups: Cosmetic Glimpse, Radiant Range, Shadow Play, Spice Luxury, Dehydrated Pastel and Fiction Brights.

‘Cosmetic Glimpse’ colours include the shaded neutral, pastel-like tones of cream, brown rose and grey that can be blended together to create balance, whilst the ‘Radiant Range’ again encompasses pastels but moves through the spectrum to include Chinese Red and Peat, which is an exceptionally deep brown.

Based on shadows in the moonlight, ‘Shadow Play’ presents the natural earthy colours of clay, trees and straw in beiges and greys, whilst ‘Spicy Luxury’ spices up colours with slightly bleached, old damask mixed shades inspired from old towns and tiled mosques.

Moving back to pastels, ‘Dehydrated Pastel’ offers a muted colour palette of dry flowers complemented with greys and pinks enlivened by light celeste and pale beige to give a feeling of old world charm, whilst in sharp contrast ‘Fiction Brights’ creates a fantasy world of vivid colour with bright yellow, green, deep blue, bluebell, ginger and cardinal and burgundy reds.
