Personal leather goods revenues reach $338 million

According to a new report published by Ireland-based Research and Markets, the personal leather goods manufacturing industry (excluding the lucrative product groups of women’s handbags and purses) generated revenue of approximately $338 million in 2006, with gross profit estimated at an impressive 34%.

The report claims that billfolds, wallets, French purses, clutches and instrument cases accounted for 37.53% of the market; goods such as travel kits and jewellery boxes made up 50.93%, whilst other non-specified personal leather goods accounted for 11.54%.
