Higher ‘Made in Italy’ exports to UK

10/10/2007

Exports of ‘Made in Italy’ goods to the UK continue to be strong according to Assocamerestero, the Association of the Italian Chambers of Commerce Abroad. It reports that sales for the segment rose 4.5% during the first half of 2007 compared with the prior-year period, reaching €7.5 million.

Products from the leather sector showed the second highest growth (+20%), beaten only by metal exports. And, according to the association, Italian companies are increasingly choosing to invest in the UK over other European countries, particularly those in the ‘traditionally’ Italian sectors such as fashion and furniture.
