Leather goods among Vietnam’s highest export earners

Leather handbags and travel goods are among the most lucrative export items for Vietnam, along with textiles and apparel and computer components.
Forecasts have set the country’s export revenues for 2007 at approximately $48 billion, up 20.5% compared with 2006.
Revenues from exports to countries within the European Union were up 30%, while those to the US rose 24%. Exports to Asean countries also grew 26% in revenues.
