US chemical factory blaze unsolved

05/10/2007

The cause of the blaze at the DYO Chemical warehouse in Hutchins, Dallas, is still unclear. Authorities are investigating the cause of the major fire, which broke out on September 29.

The warehouse was used to store chemicals used to dye leather products such as belts, shoes and saddles.

Approximately 60 fire-fighters from the surrounding area were called to action when the 20-foot high flames were reported. However, although it was a high-flammability blaze, there were no reported injuries and nobody was in the building when the fire started.
