Stahl wants customers to ‘have fun’ with new colour forecast
Netherlands-based chemicals company Stahl’s colour forecast for the summer 2009 season introduces warmer and lighter colours and its ‘Have fun!’ motto aims to encourage people to experiment with different colours and material types.
The six colour groups featured are Plus Class, Evolving Shapes, Magnificent Rural, Grand Bazaar, Bohemian Reverie and Sungliders.
Plus Class is inspired by the 1940s and features silky surfaces and fluid, feminine shapes. Neutral colours range from vanilla cream and pale browns to slightly deeper shades of rose and chocolate. Meanwhile, Evolving Shapes uses contemporary design symbols such as skyscrapers for a functional and modern look. Its radiant colours range from vanilla, grey and powder blue pastels to vivid Chinese red and deep brown peat.
Magnificent Rural is inspired by the orient and soft lines, strong shapes and free movement are prevalent. Dark moonlit colours drawn from clay, trees and straw are used with beige and grey.
Grand Bazaar looks to the Middle East for its inspiration and introduces spiced colours alongside luxurious taffeta textures, metallic glows and solid silk surfaces. An Eastern European influence can be seen in Bohemian Reverie with its mixture of country and casual, rustic and precious, and large and small flower graphics. Its pastel colours are muted greys and pinks with light celeste and beige.
Finally, Sungliders uses sparkling, vivid shapes with bright colours and a sporty touch.
