New Indian JV at Poltrona Frau and net profit up 171%

Italian leather upholstery manufacturer Poltrona Frau finished the first quarter with net profit of €3.3 million ($4.7 million), up 171% compared with the prior-year period. Earnings were up 18% to €140 million compared with €129 in the first quarter of 2006.

The company has also signed an equal joint venture agreement with India-based Tata Group though which it hopes to promote its brands across India.
