27/09/2007

For most participants at the recent edition of Le Cuir à Paris, which took place from September 18-21, the highlight was the Trends Gallery.

Four themes were unveiled at the Gallery, which previewed colours and materials for the winter 2009 season. The categories were: Sudden shower, Storm, Clear Spell and Thaw.

Other imagery included Adam dressed in wild llama skins, red beaver, raw python and natural alligator skin seeking elegantly attired Eve, clothed in shimmering lurex, metallic lacquers and red lacquer. An Achromia theme featured de-pigmented skins and vegetable tanning combined with canvas and coatings, rubber and cork.

Organisers reported that 289 exhibitors from 22 different countries attended, 49% from Italy, 25% from France, 11% from Spain, 8% from other European countries, 4% from the Americas and 3% from Asia/Oceania. The four-day show attracted 13,590 visitors.

Many attendees visited the Designers’ Village, which included bags and gloves from Valérie Saïd and bags from Nouria Nehari.
