BASF Curtex S.A., a division of German chemicals company BASF, has opened its new business premises in Ribarroja del Turia, near Valencia, Spain. The site comprises office space and a complete technical centre. The new premises are said to be close to a large leather shoe and clothing producer.

Head of BASF’s global leather business, Thomas Sattler, said: “As a result, we will be in a better position to help our customers in Valencia in the development of new applications and, at the same time, our customers will benefit from a comprehensive technical service.”

Spain is an important market for the company’s leather business in Europe. Overall business in south-west Europe will continue to be managed from BASF Curtex S.A.’s headquarters, which are near Barcelona.

The company’s Performance Chemicals for Leather business unit makes chemicals for all wet end and finishing processes in the leather and fur industries.
