Mato Grosso do Sul slaughter up 3.1%

According to the Agricultural Product Inspection Service in Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil, 2.46 million bovine head were slaughtered in the state between January and August this year.

This represents a 3.1% increase in slaughter numbers compared with the same eight-month period in 2006. Mato Grosso do Sul is one of Brazil's largest cattle breeding states.
