Leathergoods steady, but watches keep sales growth ticking over at Richemont

Swiss luxury goods group Richemont--whose brands include Piaget, Cartier, Vacheron Constantin and Montblanc--has reported 11% growth for the first five months of this year.

The best performance came from its watches brands, but its luxury leathergoods business achieved broadly the same level of sales as last year.

Founder and chairman, Johann Rupert, said that despite recent market turbulence and current uncertainties, Richemont would continue to prosper and grow over the long term.

“Richemont is fortunate that the luxury goods business, whilst not immune to external disruption, has historically shown itself to be relatively resilient,” he said.
