To Russia with leather

Following confirmation at the start of the week of the importance of the leather sector in Tuscany's economy, the regional authorities have released specific information about the biggest growth market for Tuscany's fashion industry.
The Toscana Promozione economic development agency says the 6,750 companies involved in leather and leathergoods production are achieving unprecedented growth in Russia.
Exports from Tuscany as a whole to Russia were worth €197.6 million in 2006, a rise of 36.1% compared to the year before.
