05/09/2007
The Association of Tanning Industries of Rio Grande do Sul state in Brazil (AICSul) and the national Association of Leather Chemists and Technicians (ABQTIC) are planning a joint seminar in the city of Bento Gonçalves in the southern state.
The event will be the twenty-first AICSul Seminar and the second Southern Meeting for ABQTIC members.
Together, they will attempt to specify what the priorities should be for the leather industry as it plans for next year. AICSul president, Francisco Gomes, said on announcing the date: "We will work with our technical colleagues to find the best ways of overcoming the challenges we face in a sector that is so strongly influenced by the overseas market while our currency, the real, is over-valued."
The event will take place on 20 October.
