India's Council for Leather Exports (CLE) has signed a memorandum of understanding with the British Footwear Association.
The Indian organisation said it hoped the move would help revive leather hubs in the Asian country, especially in the northern city of Kanpur.
The two business bodies will seek to develop strong institutional relations and establish a "sustainable mechanism of dialogue".
