Brazil’s Bertin Group plans to open a new abattoir, meat processing facility and tannery in Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul, by the end of October.

The meat processing side of the business will be geared towards producing meat for the fast food market whilst the tannery will produce wet blue, crust and finished leather.

The new unit is expected to generate 7,100 jobs
