GM posts record sales outside the USA

The world’s largest auto manufacturer General Motors sold 2.405 million cars and trucks in the second quarter of 2007, up from the 2.395 million vehicles in the second quarter last year.

The company also posted record sales outside the USA at 1.39 million vehicles, accounting for approximately 58% of GM's total global sales.

In the Latin America, Africa and Middle East region, sales surged to 293,300 vehicles, up 20% in volume year-on-year; in the Asia/Pacific region, sales of 338,000 vehicles were 8% higher; whilst in Europe sales also hit a record of 574,000 vehicles, up 5% from the comparable period in 2006.
