The “Consorzio Maestri Calzaturieri del Brenta” will celebrate the 30th year that ‘Made in Italy’ shoes have been a feature at the GDS fair in Düsseldorf at the forthcoming German event on September 14-16.

Having attended the show for the first time in September 1977, shoe manufacturers from the Brenta region—the area between Padua and Venice—will mark the anniversary with a special reception on the first day of GDS.

The footwear industry in the Brenta region has approximately 800 production sites and employs around 13,000 staff. Its output accounts for almost 10% of the entire Italian shoe industry, producing 22 million pairs of shoes per year. Annual sales total approximately 1.7 billion.
