According to figures released by the Brazilian Beef Industry and Exporters Association (Abiec), Brazil shipped 1.36 million tonnes of beef worth $2.2 billion in the first six months of the year (January–June), an increase of 26.96% in terms of volume and 31% in terms of value, compared with the same period in 2006.
