ASSOMAC appoints new chairman

11/07/2007

The National Association of Italian Manufacturers of Footwear, Leathergoods and Tannery Machines (ASSOMAC) has appointed Giulio Tandura as chairman.

He replaces Giovanni Gaia, who is stepping down from the position after four years.

A qualified mechanical engineer, Mr Tandura joined Poletto after university, where he remained until 1995 when, in partnership with Carlessi, he set up splitting machinery manufacturer Linta Srl.

Having joined ASSOMAC’S board of directors in 1999, he was appointed vice chairman in 2003 and was responsible for tanning machinery.

The association has also re-appointed two vice chairmen: Giovanni Bagini, who will be responsible for footwear machinery, and Alberto Paccagnella, who will take responsibility for leathergoods machinery. Both have already held these positions in the past.
