China boosts sales at BMW Group

German carmaker the BMW Group has reported record sales for June as the number of vehicles delivered to customers improved 15.1% to reach 150,285 from 130,542 in the same period of 2006.

The Chinese markets once again posted above-average growth rates, increasing 63.2% to 5,925 units from 3,631, whilst Russia also recorded positive sales growth, with sales improving 77.8% to reach 1,502, and Western Europe posted 15.9% growth at 90,310 vehicles.

For the first six months, a total of 730,285 BMW, Mini and Rolls-Royce vehicles were delivered worldwide, compared with 698,482 in the corresponding period last year. This equated to an increase of 4.6%.
