06/07/2007

US retailer and wholesale distributor of leather, leatherworking tools, dyes and finishes Tandy Leather Factory, Inc. has posted sales of $4.5 million for June, equal to that of June 2006. Year-to-date sales improved 1% to $28 million from $27.8 million last year.

Sales at the company’s Retail Leathercraft division improved 17% for June to reach $2.1 million, whilst year-to-date sales increased 14% to $12.2 million. However, sales at Wholesale Leathercraft slipped to $2.4 million for June, down 6%, whilst they fell 6% to $15.1 million for the year-to-date.

CEO and president, Ron Morgan, commented, “Our consolidated sales still look weak, but I’m encouraged with the sales results at the stores.” He added, “Given that we are half way through the year, I think it is prudent to adjust our 2007 guidance downward.”
