Swift names new CEO

Swift & Company has announced that Wesley Mendonça Batista will become president, chief executive officer and a director of the US-based meat processor upon completion of the previously announced sale of the company to Brazil-based J&F Participações S.A. He will replace Sam Rovit who will leave the company.

Mr Batista is currently the executive director of operations of Brazil’s JBS S.A., Latin America’s largest beef processor, the vice president of its board of directors and a J&F partner.

With nearly $10 billion in annual sales, Swift & Company is the third-largest processor of fresh beef and pork in the USA and the largest beef processor in Australia.
