With over 150 years’ experience in the tanning sector, Italian leather chemicals producer Silvateam is now celebrating nearly three years of success in China.

Having established a consulting centre in the leather production hub of Guangzhou in September 2004, the company now concentrates 30% of its leather product manufacturing in China including the production of chestnut, quebracho and tara extracts.

In March 2005 the company’s Chinese operations were transferred to a 5000m² facility with offices, stores, laboratories and auxiliary structures near Nan Hai, where a ‘humid’ lab is already operational and a lab for testing finishing products will soon be completed enabling Silvateam to offer a full range of services to the expanding Asian market.
