Bangladesh leather exports jump 15%
According to data released by the Bangladesh Export Promotion Bureau, the
country’s leather exports increased 15.86% during the period July 2006 to March 2007, to reach $304.07 million from $262.44 million in the corresponding period a year earlier.
A breakdown of the figures showed that finished leather exports improved 9.07% to reach $198.37million from $181.88 million, leather bags and purse exports grew 15.73% to $6.18 million from $5.34 million, and footwear exports increased an impressive 32.31% to reach $99.52 million from $75.22 million in the prior-year period.
