Speaking at the company’s annual shareholders’ meeting on May 31, chairman of specialty chemicals producer Lanxess AG, Dr Axel Heitmann, reiterated the company’s commitment to Germany as an industrial location, stating, “Chemistry is good business here in Germany too. The chemical industry is one of the cornerstones of our country’s positive economic development, along with the automotive, electrical and mechanical engineering sectors.” 

Meanwhile, according to Dr Heitmann, in 2006 the company fully achieved all the goals it announced when it was established in 2004—and considerably exceeded some of them.
