According to statistics released by the country’s Federal Bureau of Statistics, Pakistan’s leather exports continued to improve in April, rising 15.48% to reach $74.869 million compared with $64.835 million in March.

During April finished leather exports improved 19.61% month-on-month to reach $24.693 million from $20.645 million, leather goods exports rose 17.33% to $40.490 million from $34.518 million, and footwear exports edged 0.14% higher to reach $9.686 million from $9.672 million.

On a year-on-year basis the sector is still struggling as April’s total leather exports remained 11.07% lower than those reported in the same month a year earlier, however, an upward trend now appears to have been established.
