According to local media reports India’s largest private sector company Reliance Retail is said to be in talks with footwear company Bata with the aim of launching a joint footwear retail venture.

The reports claim that Reliance has set a three-year target of achieving Rs30 billion ($739 million) turnover from the deal—which will give Reliance Retail access to in excess of 1,000 Bata stores and will lead to further Bata showrooms across India.
