According to a report from the Arab-Brazil News Agency (ANBA), economist Alessandro Teixeira has been sworn in as president of the Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex), taking over from Juan Quirós, who is stepping down to become a vice president at the Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo (Fiesp). Mr Teixeira is the president of the Brazilian Agency for Industrial Development (ABDI) and already held the position of executive vice president at Apex.

Linked to the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade, Apex undertakes trade promotion activities in partnership with private organisations and associations, including Brazilian leather and footwear representative groups.
