The British Glove Association, in collaboration with the Worshipful Company of Glovers, has chosen the 2007 recipients of its annual glove design competition.
Amy Fleuriot from the London College of Fashion was named as the winner in the ‘Design a pair of Ladies' or Men's leather or fabric and leather gloves for a particular winter sport or activity’ category, Elizabeth Foicik from the College of West Anglia (Isle Campus) won the ‘Design a glove for a member of the Royal Family’ category, and Hannah Moreton from DeMontfort University topped the ‘Design a pair of Ladies' or Men's Fashion gloves for autumn/winter 07’ group.

This year’s recipient of the Silver Salver, which is presented to the college judged to have contributed the best series of designs and held for one year, was awarded to Colchester School of Art, whilst the Dents Prize for the most commercial design was given to Margaret Quon from Oxford & Cherwell Valley College. The panel also presented a ‘Judges Choice for Innovation’ certificate to Aimi MacKay from Grays School of Art at the Robert Gordon University.
The aim of the competition, which has been running since 1975, is to encourage students to create practical yet original glove designs.
