US-based designer of consumer products, including fashion watches, handbags, and small leather goods Fossil, Inc. has reported record first quarter net sales and gross profit for the thirteen-week period ended April 7.

Net sales increased 15.4% to reach $304.8 million, whilst gross profit increased 17.4% to $156.1 million.

The improvement was largely attributed to better-than-expected sales volume growth driven by the company’s watch brands and higher retail sales.
