Dr Werner Breuers has been appointed to the management board at German specialty chemicals supplier Lanxess AG.

Born in Germany, Mr Breuers joins the company from the Basell group, where he was most recently president of Basell Polyolefins Europe in Holland. He has also worked for Hoechst AG, Hostalen Polyethylen GmbH, Hostalene Polietilene Italia S.r.l. and polyethylene manufacturer Elenac GmbH.

He will replace Dr Koemm, who will step down as a member of the board on May 31.
