US-based leather and leather-related products retailer Tandy Leather Factory, Inc. has reported sales of $4.3 million in April, equal to sales in April 2006. Year-to-date sales were up 1% to $18.9 million compared with $18.7 million last year.

Retail Leathercraft posted a 15% rise in sales at $1.9 million, compared with $1.7 million in the same month a year earlier. Year-to-date sales were $8.2 million, a 14% increase over the $7.2 million for the prior-year period.

Wholesale Leathercraft posted sales of $2.2 million for April, down 8% from $2.4 million. Year-to-date Wholesale Leathercraft sales were $10.2 million compared with $10.6 million, a decline of 4%.
