Kentucky-based consumer products company Brown-Forman Corporation has agreed to sell substantially all the assets of its Hartmann luggage and leather goods business to private equity firm Clarion Capital Partners, LLC. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Founded in 1877, Hartmann is one of the oldest US luggage manufacturers. It was purchased by Brown-Forman in 1983.
