Buckman Laboratories presents Edward Weiss Memorial Award

At a recent ceremony in Campinas Brazil, Steve Buckman, CEO of US-based specialty chemical company Buckman Laboratories International, presented the Edward Weiss Memorial Award to long-term employee Telmo Seganfredo.

The award is presented annually in recognition of individual excellence for contributions in the fields of research, applications technology, marketing or technical support and sales. Mr Seganfredo was recognised for his expertise in the beamhouse and his knowledge regarding the control of micro-organisms. He travels extensively in Brazil, providing technical support to large tanneries as well as lecturing at the Senai Centre for Leather Technology in southern Brazil.

Mr Seganfredo said that he was thrilled to receive the award and that he was very optimistic about the future of the Brazilian leather industry.
