A record 60 European companies from the UK, Turkey, Italy, Portugal, Poland and Hungary, exhibited at the garment, textiles, leather and fashion accessories show, Motexha 2007, held recently in Dubai. The higher number of European participants was attributed to higher incomes and increased wealth in the Middle East region, which has boosted mainstream demand for mid-to-high-end products.

In total, some 226 exhibitors and over 100 international brands from over 25 countries participated at the show—a 35% increase over the previous year.
