Over 250 leather technologists and tanners, as well as 80 Stahl employees and agents recently attended the ‘Fashion Future’ symposium presented by Stahl Asia Pacific in Guangzhou, China. The event showcased the company’s new fashion and technical ideas for leather.

The first theme presented at the event was Asian Cowboys, which included 12 hot wax trends for touch and waterproof surfaces, raw looks and new lights inspired by cowboy attire.

In contrast to this, the Saba collection presented smooth touch leathers. A new cationic system, M-Cat, produces floaters, and straight and soft nappas as well as tight grain and casein gloss both with clarity. Mysterious black, common brown and special tan were the primary colour focuses.

From soft and smooth, the symposium moved onto Technical Sports, focusing on a reinterpretation of the classic white for sports shoes that included tones of grey, white-on-white mud crack and white techno.

In contrast to white, its Paris cabaret theme showcased bright colours and a new concept, Frou Frou, with three-dimensional light and fluffy leathers. Bold colours included purple, pink, red and blue.

The last look was Modern, with clean burnished and new patent replacing the old dirty wax looks seen in recent seasons.
