Lanxess showcases latest developments at FIMEC

German chemicals company Lanxess will showcase its most recent developments for retanning and finishing at the upcoming FIMEC 2007 in Novo Hamburgo, Brazil.

In the retanning sector, the company will highlight its new Retingan ZF, said to be the first and only genuine resin tanning agent without free formaldehyde, but offering all the other performance advantages of a genuine resin. It will also present Tanigan PAK-N-A, an anionic neutralising agent for retanning with very high lightfastness, resistance to heat yellowing and a good buffing effect; Levotan C-A, a softening, lightfast anionic retanning material which produces soft and tight leather when combined with replacement syntans and vegetable and resin tanning materials; and Blancorol ZB-33, a zirconium sulfate tanning material with good water solubility, suitable for white tannage and also retannage, reducing
the elasticity of the leathers and increasing the print retention.

Finishing products on show will include Bayderm Finish GB-A, a water-based top coat for all kinds of leatherespecially milled leatherswith an excellent gloss
level, natural appearance and smoothness; and Opti-Matt A-1000, a completely
new, dull, silica-free, acrylic top coat dispersion for furniture and shoe
upper leathers based on innovative matting technology.

Further highlights will include the Levaderm range of liquid dyestuffs with excellent fastness properties, in particular fastness to water spotting, lightfastness and migration resistance; and the high-performance X-Grade system with outstanding filling properties consisting of Euderm X-Grade CGS (Corrected Grain System) and Euderm X-Grade FGS (Full Grain System).
